(More customer reviews)I originally bought the Kindle Leather Cover, Burgundy Red (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) and loved the look and feel of it. Unfortunately my previously trouble-free Kindle began freezing and powering off (or refused to power on) once I started using it. I initially thought it was the software update I had also completed, but soon realized every time I used my device WITHOUT the case it was fine, so did some online research and realized I was not alone in this problem. I want to add that Amazon's Customer Support was as always top notch, and they swiftly exchanged the cover twice. The problems were not resolved, however, so I gave up and looked for alternatives.
After a ton of research, I finally settled on the rooCase Folio, and I am very happy with my decision. Despite my fears, the corner bands hold the Kindle securely in place, and while I would prefer a plain microfiber inner cover instead of all the pockets (I loved the look and feel of the gray microfiber used to line the red Kindle Leather Cover), the ability to keep an identifying business card is nice. Still, the nearly opaque nature of the provided mesh window seems an odd choice, as it obscures its contents and precludes its use as a photo holder. The rooCase's magnetic snap is attractive and securely holds the cover shut, but also works to secure the front cover nicely in place when folding it around to the back while reading, without placing undo stress on the cover's spine.
The magenta color is bright, fun and feminine without looking cheap or tacky, and it matches beautifully with my Apple iPod nano 16 GB Pink (6th Generation) NEWEST MODEL. The case's overall fit and finish are of good quality. The gift-style box it comes packaged in is a nicely added touch and a bonus if you are buying this as a gift for a loved one.
If you're looking for a quality case to protect your Kindle 3 and give it that expensive, "hard cover book" look and feel, this is a terrific option.
